PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

RheoCem-Retain 2316 is a high-range water-reducing and retarding concrete admixture based on polycarboxylate ether (PCE) technology. It is designed specifically for ready-mix concrete that needs to stay workable for a longer period — particularly during long-distance transport and hot weather conditions.

RheoCem-Retain 2316 keeps concrete workable for 90 to 180 minutes depending on the mix design, temperature, and dosage. This makes it the most suitable product for RMC plants supplying concrete to sites that are 30 to 90 minutes away from the batching plant.

Compatible with fly ash, GGBS, silica fume, and all types of Portland cement. Conforms to IS 9103 and ASTM C-494 Type G.

Method of Use

Method of Use

  • Conduct trial mixes at the batching plant before commercial production to establish the correct dosage

  • Measure the required quantity accurately using a calibrated dispenser

  • Add RheoCem-Retain 2316 to the gauging water or simultaneously with mixing water at the batching plant

  • Do not add directly to dry cement or dry mix under any circumstances

  • Mix for a minimum of 60 seconds after admixture addition for uniform distribution

  • Dosage range: 0.6% to 1.2% by weight of cementitious material — exact dosage to be confirmed by site trial

  • For hot weather concreting, dosage may be increased slightly — confirm by trial

  • Ready-mix concrete requiring extended workability — M30 to M50 grade

  • Long-distance concrete transport — 60 to 120 minutes transit time

  • Hot weather concreting where rapid slump loss is a concern

  • High-strength structural concrete for bridges, flyovers, and infrastructure

  • Concrete with high fly ash, GGBS, or silica fume content

  • Pumped concrete for high-rise buildings and congested reinforcement

  • Compatible with OPC 43, OPC 53, PPC, PSC, and blended cements

  • Do not combine with naphthalene or melamine based admixtures

Storage Instructions

  • Store in original sealed containers in a cool, dry, and shaded area

  • Protect from direct sunlight and temperatures above 45°C

  • Do not allow to freeze — store above 5°C at all times

  • If frozen, thaw slowly at room temperature and stir thoroughly before use

  • Shelf life is 12 months from date of manufacture under correct storage conditions

  • Non-toxic and non-flammable under normal handling conditions

  • Avoid prolonged skin contact and eye exposure

  • Wash skin thoroughly with clean water after handling

  • Rinse eyes immediately with clean water if contact occurs — seek medical advice if irritation continues

  • Use gloves and safety glasses when dispensing or handling large quantities

  • Refer to MSDS for complete health and safety information
